Best Brownies Recipe

Brownies aren't usually my first choice of dessert, but when they are, it's usually only the ones that I bake. They're basically squares of warm, chocolatey, fudgey goodness. If you like fudgey brownies, this is the recipe for you!

And it's all because I use this modified recipe (here's the original):

1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa  powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder

  1. Preheat oven to about 175 degrees Celsius, grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
  2. Melt the 1/2 cup of butter in a saucepan over low heat. Once it has melted completely, let the melted butter cool down, then stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. (Important to let it cool, otherwise your eggs will cook in the residual heat!)
  3. Beat in 1/3 cup cocoa, 1/2 cup flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Spread batter into prepared pan.
  5. Throw the pan into the oven for about 25 minutes (cooking time depends on your oven, mine takes about 25 minutes for a perfect texture) and do not overcook.
  6. Remove and place on a cooling rack to cool before slicing and transferring.

These brownies are awesome because they only need a really short list of ingredients and you can have them on the table in less than an hour. Enjoy! This recipe makes about 16 brownies. You're welcome.
